About thirty years ago, The Park at St. Luke’s began as the seedling of an idea. Things have changed since then - buildings have been demolished, fences constructed, the neighborhood evolved. Through all these changes, The Park has remained a green refuge in our urban environment.
In recent years, we have refreshed The Park by planting native shrubs and perennials to provide habitat for birds, butterflies, and pollinators in addition to developing new programs. Volunteers regularly bring children from the Boyce Ansley School and St. Luke’s Sunday School to The Park to demonstrate how to care for creation through the cycle of sowing, tending, and harvesting. Children have raised and released butterflies - the offspring of those that were released last year continue to thrive!
